The Jon Snows of Snow Removal

Winter is coming. Or, to give you a little bit more perspective, Canadian winter is coming. It is all fun and games during the months leading up to the holidays, because snow is expected and desired during that time of year.

January 2nd, however, is when it all starts to go down (a snowy) hill.

Our city becomes a slushy, desolate, frigid land roughly until the month of April. We dread having to leave our houses in such a climate.

For this, we must pay tribute to the real heroes of winter: the snow removal team.

Our city would shut down if not for those who spend their winter days clearing streets, freeways and sidewalks. One could not possibly get to school, work, or go about their day without this essential process. Yes, it may be annoying for drivers, as they need to look out for snow clearing signs. However, we take the work that the men and women on the Montreal snow removal team for granted.

We must also consider their feelings; do like their jobs, battling the harsh Canadian winter whenever there is a snowfall? It is hard to imagine that they do. However, they disregard their feelings during these winter months in an effort to ensure the functionality and efficiency of our city.

To conclude, I think I speak for everyone when I say that I extend my thank you to those who deserve it: the snow removers.
